Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound Steak (sirloin or ribeye) Cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup Orzo pasta Can be substituted with rice if needed
  • 4 tablespoons Butter Use unsalted for better control over saltiness
  • 4 cloves Garlic Fresh garlic is recommended for best flavor
  • 2 cups Beef broth Low-sodium optional for less saltiness
  • 1 cup Heavy cream Can substitute with half-and-half for a lighter version
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan cheese Freshly grated works best
  • Salt and pepper Adjust according to preference
  • Chopped parsley Fresh parsley enhances flavor and presentation

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the steak pieces and season with salt and pepper. Sear until browned on all sides.
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the orzo pasta, then pour in beef broth and bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the orzo is tender.
  6. Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until creamy.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Use a heavy-bottomed pot to ensure even heat distribution when cooking the steak. Don't overcrowd the pot while searing the steak to achieve a nice brown crust. Adjust the thickness of the sauce by playing with the amount of heavy cream and Parmesan you use. For additional depth of flavor, consider adding a splash of red wine after browning the steak. Chopping the parsley finely will enhance its flavor and visual appeal.
