Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, cook the ground sausage over medium heat until browned.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs and milk, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Layer the buttermilk biscuits in the bottom of a baking dish.
- Spread the cooked sausage over the biscuits.
- Pour the egg mixture over the sausage and biscuits.
- If desired, add sautéed vegetables and cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the egg is set and the top is golden.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Use fresh buttermilk biscuits for the best texture. Don't skip on seasoning the egg mixture for added flavor. Allow the dish to cool slightly before cutting for neater slices.
