  • 1 box angel food cake mix
Fruit
  • 1 cup blueberries Use fresh for best results; frozen can be used in a pinch.
Toppings
  • 1 cup whipped cream For serving
  • 1/4 cup sugar Adjust based on sweetness of blueberries.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

Preparation
  1. Make the angel food cake according to package instructions. Allow it to cool completely before slicing.
  2. In a bowl, combine the blueberries, sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix well to ensure the blueberries are coated.
  3. Once the cake is cooled, slice it horizontally into layers.
Assembly
  1. Spread a layer of whipped cream on the first layer of cake, then add a layer of the blueberry mixture on top.
  2. Continue layering until you’ve used all the ingredients, finishing with whipped cream on top.
Chilling
  1. Chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

Make sure the cake is completely cooled before slicing to prevent crumbling. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For an elevated dessert experience, serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
