Ingredients

Protein
  • 4 pieces boneless skinless chicken breasts
Sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup fresh pineapple juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Thickening Agent
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Cooking Oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Method

Marinating
  1. Combine brown sugar, pineapple juice, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and black pepper in a bowl.
  2. Place chicken breasts in a resealable bag and pour the marinade over them.
  3. Marinate for 4 hours or overnight for the best flavor.
Cooking
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Sear chicken for 5 minutes per side until golden brown.
  3. Transfer to an oven or grill and cook at 375°F (190°C) until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  4. Mix cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of the marinade and boil until thickened.
  5. Brush glaze over the cooked chicken and serve warm.

Notes

Ensure you hit the correct internal temperature for perfectly juicy chicken. For extra caramelization, consider finishing the chicken in a hot oven or on a grill. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently to maintain the chicken's tenderness and moisture.
