Preparation
- Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
- Season the steak with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper, then sear in the hot pan for 3-4 minutes on each side until cooked to desired doneness. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, add chopped onion, bell peppers, and minced garlic, sautéing until softened.
- Stir in the rice and cook for 1-2 minutes, allowing it to soak up some flavors.
- Pour in the broth, bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
- Once the rice is cooked and liquid is absorbed, slice the steak and serve it on top of the rice. Enjoy your one-pan Cajun steak rice!
Notes
For optimum flavor, let the steak marinate in the Cajun seasoning for at least 30 minutes before cooking. To avoid overcooking the steak, use a meat thermometer to check for doneness: 130°F for medium-rare and 145°F for medium. Consider using jasmine or basmati rice for an aromatic touch to the dish. Pair with a fresh green salad or steamed vegetables for a complete meal. Leftovers can be refrigerated but are best consumed within 2-3 days for optimal taste.
