Biscuit Mix
  • 1 can cheddar biscuit mix Follow package instructions for preparation.
Broth
  • 1 cup beef broth Use low-sodium broth for less salt.
Veggies
  • 1 each onion, chopped Can be substituted with green onion for garnish.
Spices
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste salt Use according to preference.
  • to taste pepper Add freshly ground black pepper for best flavor.
Toppings
  • to taste green onions for garnish (optional) Adds freshness and color.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion, seasoning with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture with the beef broth and half of the cheddar cheese.
  4. Transfer the mixture into a greased casserole dish.
Assembly
  1. Prepare the biscuit mix according to package instructions and spoon it over the beef mixture.
  2. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
  2. Allow to cool slightly, then garnish with green onions if desired and serve warm.

Notes

Ensure the beef is well-drained to avoid a greasy casserole. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days and reheated easily.
