Ingredients

Protein
  • 1 lb ground beef
Dairy/Other Liquids
  • 2 cups coconut milk
  • 4 cups beef broth
Grains
  • 1 cup flour
Binders
  • 1 egg
Spices
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
Vegetables
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 green onion, chopped
Toppings
  • fresh cilantro for garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix together the ground beef, salt, pepper, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. Shape the mixture into small dumplings.
Cooking the Broth
  1. In a pot, combine the beef broth and coconut milk. Heat it on medium until it begins to simmer.
Cooking the Dumplings
  1. Carefully add the dumplings to the simmering broth. Allow them to cook for about 10-15 minutes, or until they are fully cooked through.
Serving
  1. Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with chopped green onions and fresh cilantro for an added touch of flavor.

Notes

Ensure the broth is at a gentle simmer to cook the dumplings evenly without breaking them apart. Experiment with the thickness of the soup by adjusting the amount of coconut milk or beef broth to your liking. Allow any leftovers to cool completely before sealing them in an airtight container for storage. If you prefer a spicy kick, consider adding red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce while cooking.
