Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons Homemade taco seasoning Store-bought seasoning can be used as an alternative.
  • 1 cup Chicken broth Low-sodium broth is recommended.
  • As needed pieces Taco shells Corn or flour tacos both work great.
  • As desired pieces Toppings Options include shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheese, salsa, and avocado.

Method

Cooking
  1. Place the chicken breasts in the crockpot.
  2. Sprinkle the taco seasoning over the chicken.
  3. Pour the chicken broth into the crockpot.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
  5. Remove the chicken from the crockpot and shred it with two forks.
  6. Return the shredded chicken to the crockpot to soak up the juices.
  7. Serve in taco shells with your choice of toppings.

Notes

Use high-quality chicken breasts for better flavor and texture. Consider marinating the chicken in the taco seasoning overnight for extra depth of flavor. For a vegetarian option, replace the chicken with jackfruit or tofu. Feel free to double the taco seasoning if you prefer a spicier kick.
