Pasta
  • 8 oz pasta of choice
Veggies
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
Oil
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
Aromatics
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
Spices
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional) Adjust to taste
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Toppings
  • Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)

Method
 

Cooking
  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. In the last 3-4 minutes of cooking, add the broccoli to the pasta water.
  3. Drain the pasta and broccoli together and set aside.
  4. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  5. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  6. Toss in the cooked pasta and broccoli, then season with salt and pepper.
  7. Mix well to combine and heat through.
  8. Serve with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

Use salt in your pasta water to enhance the flavor. Adjust red pepper flakes according to your spice preference. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge.
