- In a bowl, mix the yeast and warm water. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and sugar.
- Add the yeast mixture to the flour mixture and stir until a dough forms.

- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Baking
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Punch down the dough and divide it into two pieces. Roll each piece into a long loaf shape.
- Place the loaves on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Make several diagonal slashes on top of each loaf.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crusty.

Notes
Use warm water to activate the yeast properly. Knead your dough thoroughly for a good texture. Allow the baguette to cool completely before slicing to maintain its shape. For an extra crispy crust, place a pan of water in the oven as it preheats.
