Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup Fresh basil Can substitute with dried basil, though fresh provides a brighter flavor.
  • 1/2 cup Flaky sea salt Other salts may work, but flaky sea salt has a lovely texture.
  • 1 cup Roasted cherry tomatoes Ensure they are well roasted for maximum flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 170F. This low temperature will slow-roast the tomatoes, enhancing their sweetness.
  2. Combine the fresh basil, flaky sea salt, and roasted cherry tomatoes in a bowl. Be sure to chop the basil finely to release its oils.
  3. Spread the mixture on a baking sheet evenly. This even distribution allows for consistent cooking.
Cooking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven until the mixture is crispy, about one hour. Check for doneness regularly to prevent burning.
  2. Allow the mixture to cool completely before storing it in an airtight container. This helps to retain its flavor and prevent moisture.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Adjust the quantity of salt according to taste preferences. Experiment with adding other herbs like oregano or thyme for a unique twist.
