- In a large skillet, brown the spicy sausage over medium heat until fully cooked.
- Remove the sausage and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the rice and toast for a few minutes until slightly golden.
- Pour in the chicken broth and add the Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Stir to combine, then bring to a simmer.
Cooking
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for about 15 minutes until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
- While the rice is cooking, melt the butter and mix with honey in a small bowl.
- Once the rice is done, stir in the cooked sausage and drizzle the honey butter over the top.
- Garnish with chopped green onions if desired, and serve warm.
Notes
For a creamier texture, try adding a splash of heavy cream before serving. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat gently on the stove, adding a bit of broth if necessary to revive the dish.
