  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce Optional for additional umami flavor.
  • Salt and pepper Adjust based on your preference.
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch (optional) For thickening the gravy.
  • Rice Can substitute with mashed potatoes or noodles.

Method

Preparation
  1. Turn on the Instant Pot and select the 'Sauté' mode. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened.
  2. Add the beef tips and brown them on all sides to develop flavor.
  3. Stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and mushrooms. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Cooking
  1. Close the lid and select the 'Pressure Cook' mode. Cook on high pressure for 35 minutes.
  2. Once cooked, perform a quick release of the pressure as per the Instant Pot's instructions.
  3. If you prefer a thicker gravy, mix cornstarch with a bit of water to make a slurry and stir it into the sauce while on 'Sauté' mode until thickened.
Serving
  1. Serve the beef tips and gravy over rice for a perfect meal.

Notes

Use a good quality beef broth to enhance the flavor of the gravy. For added depth, consider browning the mushrooms along with the beef. Experiment with different types of mushrooms for varied textures and flavors. Allow the beef to rest for a few minutes after cooking for tenderness. Pair with fresh herbs like parsley for a finishing touch on presentation.
