Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup Teriyaki sauce Homemade or store-bought
  • 1/4 cup Soy sauce Low-sodium recommended
  • 2 tablespoons Honey Can substitute with maple syrup
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch For thickening
  • 2 tablespoons Water
  • Cooked rice For serving, any variety
  • Green onions and sesame seeds For garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl, mix teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger. Pour over the chicken.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours until chicken is cooked through.
  4. Remove the chicken and shred it with two forks.
  5. Mix cornstarch with water in a small bowl, then stir into the sauce in the slow cooker.
  6. Return shredded chicken to slow cooker and mix well.
  7. Serve over rice and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

Use fresh ginger and garlic for the best flavor impact. Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey. If you prefer a thicker sauce, let it cook a little longer after adding the cornstarch mixture. Try different garnishes like chopped cilantro or crushed red pepper for unique flavor profiles.
