Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces Chicken Breasts Boneless, skinless works best.
  • 1 cup Sour Cream You can substitute with Greek yogurt for a healthier option.
  • 1 packet Onion Soup Mix Homemade mix can also be used.
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil Any oil with a high smoke point can be used.
  • to taste Salt and Pepper Adjust according to your preference.
  • For garnish (optional) Chopped Parsley Adds freshness and color.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the sour cream and onion soup mix until well combined.
  3. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken breasts on both sides until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. Place the seared chicken breasts in a baking dish and spread the sour cream mixture over the top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Use a meat thermometer to check the chicken's internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (75°C). Let the chicken rest for a few minutes after baking to allow the juices to redistribute. Pair the sour cream mixture with additional herbs like dill or chives for added flavor. Experiment with different types of onion soup mixes for unique flavor profiles. For a crisp topping, consider broiling the dish for the last couple of minutes to achieve a golden finish.
