  • 1 lb Breakfast sausage Cooked until browned

  • 32 oz Tater tots Frozen, used directly from the package
Dairy
  • 2 cup Shredded cheddar cheese For topping the casserole
  • 4 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Milk
Spices
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper

  • 1 cup Diced onions Optional for added flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned; drain any excess fat.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
Assembly
  1. In a greased baking dish, layer the tater tots, followed by the cooked sausage, and then sprinkle the shredded cheese on top.
  2. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layers.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the tater tots are golden brown.
  2. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
