  • 1 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1 onion, chopped
Cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
Liquid
  • 1/2 cup milk Use dairy-free milk for a dairy-free option.
Binders
  • 1 ea egg
Sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
Spices
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, 1/2 cup of shredded cheese, milk, egg, chopped onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix the ingredients until well combined.
  4. Spread the meat mixture evenly into a greased casserole dish.
  5. Top with the remaining shredded cheese and drizzle ketchup over the top.
Cooking
  1. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until fully cooked through.
  2. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve with a side of steamed vegetables for a balanced meal. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days or freeze for longer storage. You can prepare the casserole in advance and store it in the refrigerator until you’re ready to bake.
